I am delighted to join the Board of Equal Access International, an organization that has distinguished itself for many years with sustainable and locally-led cutting-edge programming promoting peacebuilding, social equity, and justice.

Dr. San Martin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Plan International USA, a global child rights organization working in more than 70 countries. Under her leadership, Plan is investing in enhancing reporting and accountability mechanisms and emphasizing gender transformative programming that addresses the root causes of gender inequality.

Prior to joining Plan, Dr. San Martin held a number of senior positions in international development.  These include Group Vice President for International at Abt Associates, a research and international development firm, Director for the Operations Group of the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), overseeing the agency’s political risk insurance and technical assistance programs, and Partner at IBM Consulting Services (formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting), where she was responsible for the USAID account.

Dr. San Martin has a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Government from Harvard University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
