Annual Learning Forum on Resilience Models in Burkina Faso
On September 29, 2023, the SCC consortium, in partnership with the Executive Secretariat of the National Food Security Council (SE/CNSA), organized an annual learning forum on resilience models best practices (advocacy and scaling). The forum focused on land governance and strengthening community resilience.
EAl, the coordinator of the communication component of the SCC project, organized the event, bringing together donors, local and international NGOs, technical organizations, community representatives, and academics.
During the forum land stakeholders delivered presentations and facilitated discussions on the following topics:
- The Secretariat for Land Coordination and Social Cohesion (SECOR), an innovation introduced by the USAID RISE II projects to enhance land governance.
- Land management tools: the Mobile Application to Secure Tenure (MAST) tool for securing and developing land for the benefit of vulnerable populations.
- The strengths, challenges, and weaknesses of the current legal and institutional framework for land management in Burkina Faso.
Projects funded by USAID, as well as those funded by other technical and financial partners, shared their experiences and best practices for adapting resilience interventions to the security, socioeconomic, and humanitarian contexts in Burkina Faso.
