Zénabou Tarpilga has more than 20 years of experience in radio broadcasting and production. Currently, she ensures the quality of content (radio, print media, videos, social network publications) for USAID's SCC project leadership in Burkina Faso.
Zénabou Tarpilga is proud to belong to one of the first NGOs to implement media activities in the fight against violent extremism in Burkina Faso. Zénabou Tarpilga, has more than 20 years of experience in radio broadcasting and production. Recognized as one of the top radio program producers in the country, her shows focus on promoting and defending women’s rights and have earned awards, including the Norbert Zongo Prize for Investigative Journalism. Since joining EAI Burkina Faso in December 2012, she has shared her knowledge and strengthened the capacities of local radio producers, who have significantly improved the quality of their programs.
Currently, she ensures the quality of content (radio, print media, videos, social network publications) for USAID’s SCC project leadership in Burkina Faso. Since joining EAI in 2012, her field team management has been recognized with several excellence awards.
In the fight against violent extremism, she contributed to the implementation of the Voices of Peace project through the social mobilization of young people, their community engagement, civic vigilance, their involvement in local governance, and the use of social networks as advocacy tools, in order to alleviate their feelings of marginalization and to protect them from recruitment by extremist groups.
Despite a difficult socio-political context, her leadership contributed to creating a good working environment with the various partners, thus achieving excellent results in the implementation of the project. Indeed, many listeners have testified to the contribution of the Voices of Peace project’s interventions in the resilience of the populations in the intervention areas of projects implemented by EAI.
