As Program Manager of Social Behavior Change Communication at EAI, Maryam Rabiu Muhammad brings more than 18 years of experience working in roles using media as a tool for social change, peacebuilding, and gender mainstreaming.

Maryam Rabiu Muhammad is an experienced media producer, peace practitioner, and civil society organizer. She has more than 18 years of experience working in roles using media as a tool for social change, peacebuilding, and gender mainstreaming. She also possesses significant experience working with conflict-prone areas within Northeast Nigeria.  

Maryam is the recipient of several awards, including the first Kano State Annual Education Journalism Award from the Kano State Ministry of Education and the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DfID) in 2008. Maryam continues to advance her education and expertise through trainings and workshops, including those offered by the BBC, Internews, and the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education. Maryam also participated in the prestigious International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) organized by the State House, USA in 2019. She was also a recipient of the Award of Excellence by Bayero University Kano in collaboration with Kano State Civil Society Forum during the celebration of 2022 International Women’s Day. 

Maryam is a member of several local and national organizations and platforms, such as Women Peace and Security Network, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, International Visitors Leadership Programme Alumni Association and Harvard Kennedy School Alumni, among others.
