Halima is a seasoned Journalist with 10 years of experience working in Radio. She worked as a Field reporter with Borno Radio Television, before moving to establish Radio Dandal Kura at EAI in collaboration with Creative Associate. Halima started as a radio producer then a lead presenter, and was later promoted to lead producer, responsible for creating Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) content based in the North-eastern part of Nigeria’s context. Before Dandal Kura, Halima was an ad-hoc staff of the National Bureau of Statistics, participating in many field types of research in and around the northern part of Nigeria. She once worked as an administrative officer at the Borno State Ministry of Health.

Halima Abba Ibrahim joined EAI as a Radio Producer/Program then as a Program Officer for SBCC/Media and is currently a Senior Program Officer for SBCC/Media at Equal Access Nigeria. Halima has attended several communication trainings in different countries and is currently studying at the University of Maiduguri for a B.Ed degree.

Halima is passionate about social and behavioral change programs from Bama Local Government of Borno State and has experienced firsthand the damage and atrocities by insurgents in her community, which pushed her to thrive in making a difference.
