James is a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with 7 years of experience in monitoring peacebuilding, public policy, governance, preventing/countering violent extremism, mental health advocacy, and Social Behavior Change Communication programmes. He is skilled in designing MERL systems, project cycle management, and conducting surveys for projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and Somalia.
James serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Learning (MERL) Officer at Equal Access International, supporting the development and refinement of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, guides the monitoring and evaluation process including Outcome Harvesting, and ensures effective coordination of activities. He conducts baseline studies, assessments, and internal reviews, and contributes to external donor and project reporting requirements.
Previously, James served as a Research Coordinator at the Centre for Analytical Research in Development, as a MERL Assistant & Project Assistant at Saferworld. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Urbaniana University, Rome, Italy.
James has co-authored several research papers on topics such as Kenya’s war on terror, devolution, and the impact of COVID-19 on peace and conflict. Has received training in Monitoring and Evaluation from Africa Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) and participated in workshops on Outcome Harvesting Methodology and Transformational Leadership.
