We call for peace and justice
EAI strongly condemns the actions of violent extremists at the U.S. Capitol
On January 6, 2021, the world watched in horror and disbelief as a mob of domestic violent extremists and rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
The staff of Equal Access International strongly condemn these actions and stand with those calling for justice for all who incited and participated in these violent acts. And we call for deep reflection and structural change to address the root causes of these acts, stemming from generations of systemic racism, oppression, and complicity in the normalization of white supremacy in the United States.
As an organization committed to transforming conflict and empowering communities to create inclusive social change, we are concerned with the deterioration of our own social contract and the inability of our political leaders to unite and guide us through these dark times.
We will continue to add our voice to the chorus of NGOs and civic leaders calling for peace and justice.
